This is the first time that I have done a course with Shooting Solutions, and I have been very impressed from the intial course query that I sent, through to receiving course instrcutions before then going on to do the course which I subsequently passed. Mark "Nobby" Knowles who ran the course, is an individual who has a vast amount of experience and knowledge which he uses to educate and instruct those personnel on the course. The fact that there are only 4 students on the course, means that the instructor/student ratio is 4 to 1. This also means that there is plenty of hands on opportunity with each and everyone being able to go through the weapon drills, whilst at the same time-being monitored by "Nobby". There is no opportunity to hide and Nobby expects the only the highest of standards if individuals are to pass. There are also numerous weapon systems that the students are taught to use to do their drills and to conduct test firing. The test firing shoot is excellent due to various commands that are being dictated to the individauls, its thus imperative that students pay attention at all times and focus on the commands that are set before them as well as ensuring that they are safe with the weapon at all times. The course is set in relaxed surroundings with plenty of refreshments also available. I would therefore recommend this course to anyone who only wants to get the best instruction and thereby ensuring that all their Shooting Solutions are met in the UK.

Again a very good course. With added extras on from last year. Excellent instructor who is very knowledgable with a friendly but professional approach. would highly recommend this course to anyone.

I thought it was expensive for a 1 day course and it is very out the way however it was enjoyable course and the instructor really knows his stuff thanks to his incredible background.

Excellent course, delivering both background on the use of firearms in the maritime environment and hands-on training with some of the most common platforms used. Combines classroom and range work, with practical assessments on your individual weapon handling performance throughout the day. Entire course is delivered professionally, in a relaxed, but very safe environment. Cannot recommend this course more highly - excellent.

The course was well structured with enough breaks inbetween, the Instructor was extremly knowledgable and helpfull. I was concerned before coming on this course as I had heard a few rumours about how easy it was to fail.... this is not the case, as long as you bring the right attitude and listen, the day is a pleasant and productive Refreshers Course, thanks again to Nobby for a good day

I have used this training provider twice now over 2 consecutive years. On both occasions I found the course informative, professional and very well structured. The 2nd time round for the refresher there was new content and also a larger selection firearms to learn the safe handling of. It certainly was not just a regurgitation of the initial competency course. Having complete the course myself and knowing most of the other operators I work with have also attended and passed this course there is a sense of reassurance regarding the safe handling of weapon systems while on task.

Cracking course ! I will definitely be using STS for my refresher course when its needed even tho it means driving the length of the country for a day long course, also anyone that wants to do an MFCC course I will be pointing them in the direction of STS as this course is absolutly second to none

This is not a Duty Attend Course by any means. A well put together day, pitched at the right level for a Refresher Course and delivered by a very professional instructor. You will leave this Course at the end of the day Confident, Competent and Safe. A Quality Course at a very Competitve Price.

I dI the one day course at Nobby Knowles's place in Sherborne, Dorset. For anybody thinking about or currently pursuing a career in the Maritme Security Industry this course is a must. The course content is concise, relevant and well delivered. I learnt a great deal in just a few hours.

A well structed course run by an Instructor with experience and his name and reputation says it all.The course allows us alot of hands on the weapon system that are used now in the circuit. KNobby makes sure that we are confindence in using this weapons at the the end of the day. It was beyond my expectation for a 1 day course. Am definately gonna be coming down again for my refresher course next year.

A really interesting and informative course. I also attended the Familiarisation training day prior to the Competency day. I'm very glad I did, it's definitely worth attending for anyone a bit rusty and suffering from skill fade (as I was). Or anyone unfamiliar with the maritime weapon systems. The training led perfectly into the Competency day of which the classroom work was enlightening, providing useful insight into all aspects of armed security and the practical phase was interesting and enjoyable using varied weapons and equipment that could be issued by different contract providers. Will happily be back for my refresher next year!

STS held an informative well balanced Weapons Course. Each weapon' characteristics was show by the Instructor prior to the Students involvement. The course was full day of vast experience and knowledge being passed down, value money and will recommend all STS courses.

This course far exceeded my expectations and was significantly better than other firearms courses I have attended with other providers. The instruction was second to none, with excellent knowledge, not only of all the weapon systems covered, but the security sector as a whole. I would highly recommend this course to all and will be doing all future courses through STS.
