Have just spent a day with Mark Knowles on a Bespoke Firearms Course. As an ex army and a firearms user of over 30 years, I recognise that CPD is vitally important. Especially when I have to often use firearms in public places for animal and wildlife control. Having been on numerous shooting courses in the UK I can honestly say that the course I have just attended with Mark is without equal. He imparts his hard earned knowledge and skills in a patient manner. Never have I met someone with the skills and attention to detail that this man has. It was an absolute pleasure to be trained and assessed by, what I consider to be, the best in the business. I undoubtedly will return to him in the future. Without any reservation I commend his knowledge, experience and teaching skills to anyone looking for firearms instruction and training.

This course is the second in which I have attended, Nobby is one of the most knowledgable and most professional weapons instructors which I have ever had the pleasure to of been taught by. The course itself is as always enjoyable with a relaxed atmosphere and Nobby himself is patient with guys who are a little rusty with their drills and helpful in teaching a more safer way in handling any weapon system. Been a great course, not to mention the belt fed amount of sandwiches, nice touch. See you for the next course. 10/10

The bespoke firearms course was spread over two days with both classroom practical and range based activities. It was well structured and professionally managed throughout. Mark is extremely patient, knowledgeable and has a wealth of experience to draw upon. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in getting a better understanding of the safe and proficient use of assault rifles. Thoroughly enjoyed my time.

With no previous firearms experience, research quickly identified Shooting Training Solutions Ltd and Mark Knowles as the instructor with whom I wanted to learn. Following discussion of what I wanted to know, a bespoke two day course was constructed which concentrated on safety, principles of marksmanship, skills and understanding weapons function and use. The course delivered what I requested and more and despite the significant amount of material I needed to absorb was also very enjoyable. Mark Knowles is that rare combination of expert and great teacher. I will return to continue learning with him and recommend his high quality and patient instruction to anyone of any level of skill who wishes to learn and improve whether for personal or professional development.

My teenage son and I joined Nobby's course - six of us there that day - having won a charity auction. It really was proper training in firearms protocol and drill: and no one was allowed to get away without mastering it. The actual shooting part was very well done and all the 'students' were amazed at how their abilities to be on target on the range were enhanced through the training we received. Nobby makes it all good fun and light-hearted, but with the right element of military discipline and just enough undercurrent of special forces mystique. Instructive and very good fun; highly recommended for team building.

The course was interesting, challenging and well-run. As a complete beginner with no experience, I did find day 2 rather tricky as there was so much information to take in. Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the course. Mark was patient and competent, a good trainer and several of his mantras are still going around in my head. Help me alot to learn the weapon and drills ....with safety .

As a complete beginner who had never held a weapon before I was quite nervous to start but Mark put me at ease and the information on day 1 was so interesting that I quite forgot to be nervous. Informative, challenging and out-of-my-comfort-zone are words that come to mind. My course was for two days and in retrospect, I probably needed another day to compute everything as I had become rather confused by day 2. The range on the afternoon of day 2 was extremely enjoyable. Mark has given me the basics and a more professional teacher you could not find. I'm happy to say that I have quite a good aim! Thank you Mark.

I've been in the maritime security industry for six years now and have used several different training providers for firearms courses and can honestly say that STS is not only the best value for money but is head and shoulders above the others in terms of the level of instruction. Aside from the actual weapons training which is exceptional, you are also provided with an in-depth and up to date int brief plus a presentation on the legalities of maritime law which are scarcely even mentioned with other providers. I recommend this course to anybody in the industry.

This is now my third year with STS and as always Nobby offers outstanding tuition, practice and testing throughout the course every year I have gone back to STS I have learned something knew. Nobby just doesn't cover weapons familiarization he also covers implications behind the Law understanding and gives you a up to date piracy and terrorism brief on what's happing throughout world. This is definitely the best ran course I've completed during the four years I've been in maritime security. Combining a great mixture of tuition, practice and testing, Nobby, who is an excellent instructor covers all the relevant points related to firearms in the industry and gives a very good insight to the legal points not usually discussed. I've just completed my second bespoke training course with Nobby from STS. This course focused on gaining experience in the weapons systems used a particular police firearms unit, prior to assessment. Nobby is extremely efficient when setting up the course. Once the details of the course were agreed, a clear time line was set up so each step of the process could be completed at the correct time. the research and preparation for the course was excellent, each component having an important context and reason for inclusion. The classroom aspect of the course enabled the important safety features of each weapon system to be practised in order that all the range work would be safe. The calm and knowledgeable delivery really helped my learning experience. The range work was huge fun, but incredibly valuable. Despite previously completing a 2 day bespoke course, I was aware that there were a number of improvements I needed to make. The difference in the accuracy of my shooting with both the Glock 17 and MP5 was very pleasing, as I was able to maintain a good level of accuracy in a range of positions. More importantly, I now feel able to self assess my shooting, understanding what adjustments I may need to make to my technique in order to be more accurate The quality of the instruction from Nobby is the stand out feature for any course offered by STS. I felt safe at all times and responded well to Nobby's approachable style. It was a real privilege to be instructed by someone with his background. I would not hesitate to book another session with Nobby and STS.
